So Very Busy!

I'm sorry emails have gone unanswered and comments hanging loose on posts.  My Twitter feed gone dead.  I regret excellent posts from fellow bloggers were read but not commented.

I tend to take a giant pile of photos or write a bunch of drafts and then when I have free moments, try to jigsaw puzzle them together.  I have neither of those elements today.

It's always frenetic around Belly house and recently made some changes at work which is really cutting into my zoning out and think about makeup time.  Instead of a mentally luxuriating commute time sitting on a train, I need to drive two hours for work on many days.  No more, let's read some blogs and answer comments time.  Now it is, let's not drive into that semi truck while on the George Washington bridge.  And I haaaaaate driving!

Let's see what's been happening beauty wise.

On the recent Beauty.com F&F event, I purchased another Eve Lom cleanser.  Seriously at the end of a crazy day, it feels really nice to take time to massage that balm in and end up feeling so clean.

And ebates (I hope you are all doing these cash back links when you shop online) had 15% cash back from Sephora.  While I was looking around the site, a Dior Addict Fluid stick may have fallen into my basket along with a Dior gel nail polish AND the Dior nail and cuticle cream.  ---->  you may notice I don't have a huge number of Dior makeup items in my possession or featured on the blog, so maybe this will change the tide!

ANNNNNNNND, my friend Selphia wrote me to say that SUQQU Hanashoubu was finally back in (low) stock on Selfridges.  So I might have bought that.... plus more SUQQU.  Apparently a £148 purchase completely offsets the shipping fee with the related VAT deduction.  >.>  Um..

How IS every one these days?  I am missing being here and shooting the breeze with you.

Sad Belly is in a car on the George Washington Bridge.

  1. Oh no that drive sounds terrible :-( Is this commute indefinite or will it be over soon?? Ooooh yummy Dior...can't wait to see what you think! Have you ordered from Selfridges before?? Was it a good experience? I've been scared to order from them because of Claire's post about her experience - seems too much trouble but maybe that was the exception rather than the norm? Can you believe I haven't bought any makeups lately?? IDK what's wrong with me lolol! And I've bought a few beauty bits but those were just replenishments. I have however, been purchasing some fashion bits here and there...expecting a package soonish so hopefully that stuff will look at good in person as it does in my head :-)

    1. It is for the foreseeable future, I think. :( And then I need to go back and forth during the day which is really ICK!
I've ordered from Selfridges before but through the counter and not on line more than once. Once I had that same DHL issue and then once I didn't. I'm hoping this order flies through with no problems.
If you have nothing you're wanting, that's a good place to be! I've been on a low-buy (not even self imposed) for a while and then all of a sudden, BAM! I think seeing Hanashoubu in stock tipped me right over.
Did you buy some clothing and accessories? :)

  2. Apparently I should give in and fall down the Ebates rabbithole. I'm slow to catch on to these things I guess, though I have been using the rewards site Swagbucks for years now. I used to cash out all my points there for Amazon gift cards but lately I've been using them either at Walmart (cat food emporium) or Sephora (momma's playground). The cats just had two gigantic bags of food delivered by Mr UPS Man, so my next haul is going for makeup. I'll probably get sucked in by new Dior as well. :D
An hour commute is pretty average where I live so I have a high tolerance for driving, but two hours- ouch. I hope you make it over that bridge soon!

    1. I think there are a few alternatives to Ebates, but so far Ebates has been awesome for me! I am even more motivated (in addition to my general hate of people >:) ) to shop on line because of the cash back benefit. Kitties need gourmet food! Those things are expensive!

My drive is only 1 hour one way so it's not terrible terrible, but I really really hate driving. Also going from a sitting/zoning out kind of a commute (same length of time) to driving is a big bummer.

Rachel, do you think I am driving over the Rainbow Bridge? O noessssss! D: D: D:

    2. Glad you're not traversing the Rainbow Bridge! lol
I don't particularly love driving, but I don't HATE IT hate it either. I mainly wish I could be one of those posh people with a driver when the weather is crummy or the roads are slick. Or I wish for my old 4wheel drive Jeep back.... That thing sucked gasoline like nothing else but it was such a pleasure in the winter compared to my small economical car - aka the hockey puck. And hahaha I hear you on the general hate of people. This is why Mr UPS Man delivers the cat food. It might not be exactly gourmet (one of our babies has dietary restrictions) but due to its magical appearance at the door the kitties even treat health food like manna from heaven. :P

  3. Oh noes! Driving D:
Are you an audiobook kinda belly? If so I would recommend the Bartimaeus books read by Simon Jones -- he makes utterly delightful what are merely okay stories.
Excite to read about your new goodies whenever you get the time and inclination to show them to us :)

    1. oooh! thank you for the rec, Kate! I've been listening to my local public radio station, which I am grateful for. Without WNYC my brain would be full of fluff and 50 Shades narratives instead of world/national/local news and culture.

    2. I am a big fan of public (talk) radio, too :D Radio 4. Except when I'm not. As it's election season here I am avoiding most news programs and ALL phone-ins until the idiocy goes away and it's back to cosy documentaries about medieval illuminated manuscripts and whatnot.

    3. lol! Election season makes things a bit cuckoo for cocoapuffs. (do you have cocoa puffs in the UK?) I can not WAIT until the next US presidential election cycle. I may need to reread 50 shades again then.

  4. Ugh, that sounds like a really rough commute. TWO hours?? Geez.. it's like going out of town everyday :-\ Yes, I second audiobook rec by Kate, but I hope this commuting-thing is just a fluke.
You won't regret Dior. I love the nail polish and the fluid stick. AND now that Peter Philips at the helm, I'm very excited to see what's coming. I think of all high-end brand, Dior is the most cluttered: look at the many "kinds" of lip balm/conditioner/plumper they are offering, not to mention the many "kinds" of eye shadow quads, quints, trio, etc. I hope they'd clean it up and make the line more streamlined.

    1. wahhh! It's my job. I was hoping for my new job to be more Asia and Europe, but no. Apparently, it's all about being stuck on the Bridge!
I already have Wonderland. I really like the color so I just got Tiny Pink. TP is a little...hmmm, not sure how I feel about this color. That is awesome about PP at Dior. I didn't know this! Some streamlining of that brand would be very welcome indeeeeed!

  5. 2 hour drives!?!? Daayyuumm! I can't even stand my 40min drive which I cut into 30 with speeding and road rage. Hopefully your work schedule will go back to normal soon. @_@ for your new shineys!

    1. LOL. Ehh,,, it's only 1 hour one way. Which can be as short as 40 minutes or as long as one hour PLUS depending on the weird traffic patterns around here. If I had road rage, my dinky little car wouldn't be the right road rage kind of big monster vehicle. Too many trucks on the roads.

  7. Argh I'm stuck with a wonky work schedule at the moment too! Hate it just hate it since I have less time, more tired, can't read or comments on all the blogs I want, hardly tweet anymore, little to no Instagram, less sleep getting older by the minute... and so on, and so on... Hang in there Darling and enjoy your goodies! xoxo

  9. My dear, I've been away too lately :( I've just had too much work and my recent running experience has also kept me busy. However, I'm loving Chanel New Moon -I know, I'm late to the party lol. Hope things on work get better soon for both of us :)
