However, I received a neat sample card from an order I placed online at Neiman Marcus. I decided to grit my teeth and give these a try. Can't waste a good sample, you know.
Today, a mostly neutral, slightly warm leaning red, Rouge Laque. These suckers really are glossy. The particular shade has a translucency which goes a sheer with the first layer and then built up for more opacity and depth. This swatch is more of a glob than a swipe.
On my lips. (Let's honorably ignore any weird hairs, nasal discoloration and zits, shall we? There no flakes in this picture. Noooo.) This is two thin layers, which looks warm and slightly sheer. And of course, the glossiness is there. Very pretty. Too bad for the gross rotting fruit smell.... so close under my nose. *hork*
Here I am indoors, in natural light. I like how the color, even though bright, wears like a neutral color on me. Despite the obviously high pigmentation (which my lips tend to be wary of), it was comfortable to wear without the icky stickiness of lip gloss.
|This picture makes me laugh. Obviously Bacon is being pondered.|
Am I going to buy it? Nope, nope, nope. Never ever with that smell.
I know lots of folks are fans of the Glossy Stains. What about you? What cosmetic brand has a scent that makes you want to crawl the walls?
