Edward Bess Blush Extraordinaire in Bed of Roses

I have a fail-safe strategy to kill any long-standing makeup wants: walk to a counter and play.  It's fail safe, except when it's not.  I had seen Gaia on Non-Blonde post on the new Edward Bess products and had been mulling over buying them.  Then I put myself on a low/no-buy for the month of April.

When Bergdorf Goodman was having their beauty event, I went to buy some skincare and cavalierly ended up at the Edward Bess counter fully prepared to feel self satisfied and in control and walk away.  The lipsticks didn't look good at all on me, but when I ran my fingers over the new Blush Extraordinaire...well.
Meet Bed of Roses.  Hello, pretty thing.

It is an swoon-worthy pretty pink blush with a satiny touch.  It is finely milled without kicking up any dust when you swipe with a brush.  It is a beautiful flattering satin on the skin.  I found the original blush from the brand, the Blush Imperial to be dry but smooth and lacking in intense pigmentation.
Bed of Roses improves on the old formula in every way.  Pigmentation is rich and long lasting and the satiny finish gives more dimension to my cheeks.  It feels wonderful going on and easy to blend and for me, lasts well on my face.  Quick note: there is a distinct fig scent in this product that will be familiar to those of you that have used Edward Bess lipsticks.  I like it, but those that do not enjoy scented products may not enjoy it.

Formula is divine, but the color is pretty much what made me break April into a blush spend-a-thon!  It's a medium neutral to cool pink that actually picks up a lot of warmth from my skin.  Shall we look at some pictures?
The pigmentation is strong, but applies sheerly and layers beautifully for intensity.
I'm so happy that the brand is bringing production back to the US and I think the quality is coming back.  The compact is still plastic and lightweight, but the product formulation is top notch.  There is no velvet pouch, as had been included in Blush Imperial.  I don't mind, because I think all the love went into the blush itself.  I wouldn't have minded if they left out the super scratchy brush.

I've been waiting to give my Edward Bess love affair another try and this new blush has me falling hard.  SWOOOOOOON!
Made in USA; High FIVE!
Are you also intrigued by Edward Bess's new product releases?  What are you loving from the brand?

P.S. Ha!  I must be more influenced by Gaia the Non-Blonde than I thought!  She closes her post on Secret Affair with a shot of the pack of the package to show the Made in U.S.A. text and show did I!  Credit to her for my inspiration to purchase and to show off the back!

    1. :) It is really a great color and formula. Secret Affair is also lovely, but has a tiny hint of shimmer in it, but the same lovely pigmentation.

    1. :) Have a good sniff before you buy. I'm not sure how you feel about scented makeup. I think EB is at the Sephora in Time Warner Center and definitely also at Bergdorf Goodman. Have a wonderful NY trip!!

    1. Maybe take a look at Filled with Desire. It's very pale. I bet you would look lovely in that one. But I am really liking the two I've picked up and been wearing them non stop!!
