Burberry Beauty Lip Cover in Deep Burgundy

I do love how pigmented Burberry's deep colors are, especially in the regular lipstick formula, the Lip Cover.  Deep Burgundy is rich and seems to be a particularly nice representation of the Lip Cover formula.  The formula itself is not moisturizing, but does feel feather-light on my lips while still imparting my lips with incredible color.

Take a look at the swatches below.  The swatch on the left is one swipe of the bullet and the one on the right is the bullet passed over twice.  There isn't a tremendous amount of difference between the two.  Look how the color catches the sunlight with a very subtle gleam.  It's quite a lovely formula.

It's quite ruddy in its undertone even though there is a bit of surface coolness.  It's an incredible winter lip.  I keep on forgetting I have such glorious rich colors because these days I'm wearing more lip balms and sheer colors.  Note to self: USE MY STUFF UP!
For some reason, the Lip Covers do not seem to really agree with my lips however, and tend to peel if I use them over the course of s few consecutive days.  I don't know why!  They feel wonderful and light on and the pigmentation and finish is so lush.

This color is super rich and requires the respect of a lip brush for the most precise application.  Or, be slovenly like me and just use your fingers to blot and pat onto your lips.  What's your favorite Burberry lip formula?  Lip Covers, Lip Velvets or the sheer Lip Mists?

  1. Can't remember which one this was, but I saw a burberry lipstick that looked like a straight-up gloss on another blogger. It was BEAUTIFUL.

  2. Very pretty! I'm not sure which Burberry lip formula is my favorite because I only own the lip covers! I think the lip mists would totally float my boat though!

  3. Such a rich gorgeous colour! I'm a big Lip Cover fan and my favourite is Pink Sepia =)
The only Lip Mist I've tried is Copper. Texture and colour were lovely but the formula was so soft that it broke off at the base :(
